East Side (4-0)
The annual crosstown rivalry between the Cleveland High School Wildcats and the East Side Trojans is the most eagerly anticipated matchup of the year between the two teams.
This year’s showdown will be at Leroy Byars Field. Both schools are off to great starts as East Side is undefeated through four games, while Cleveland’s only loss was a 20-7 setback at the hands of West Bolivar three weeks ago.
East Side has won the last two meetings between the two teams meeting, but Cleveland still has the overall all-time series lead at 13-9.
Entering this game, East Side is coming off a 30-20 win against West Bolivar, while Cleveland edged out Hernando 22-20.
Both teams know how to run the football and play good defense, and this contest should be an intense, physical battle.
