Elaine Burnside Parish, 86, of Greenville, formerly of Cleveland, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Graveside services will follow in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral service on Monday at the funeral home.

Parish was born in Hattiesburg and attended and graduated from Central High School in Jackson. She married John M. Parish in 1951 and preceded her in death in 1996. They lived in Cleveland in 1959 and later moved to Greenville in 1969.

She was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1969.

Parish was preceded in death by an infant son, David Jeffery in 1957.

Survivors include three daughters, Paula Parrish of Greenville, Gwen Mador (Lindsey) of Cleveland, and Sharon Coleman (Robert) of Merigold; a son, John Marcus Parrish Jr. (Kristen) of Franklin, Tenn.; three sisters, Katheleen Davis of Waterford, Wis., Norma Daivs (Gerald) and Patsy Patrick (Richard), both of Meridian; two brothers, Hoke Burnside (Elizabeth) of Katy, Texas and Carter Burnside (Frances) of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Allyn (Brandon) Hinton, Parrish Coleman, Elliot (Brittany) Mador, Katy (Will) Crump, Erin Mador, Alyce Mador, and Newt Parrish; and one great-granddaughter, Maddie Elaine Mador.
