The Trojanettes, whom have been playing strong basketball as of late really got after the Lady Falcons in the girls game.
With Strong defense and three players scoring in double figures the Trojanettes routed the Lady Falcons 52-22 to finish the regular season with a 23-3 mark and 10-0 record in Region 4-3A.
Carvacier Sanders led East Side with 19 points, LaShyra Cotton scored 14 points with 12 rebounds and Errica Blair scored 11 points in the win.
The Trojanettes led Velma Jackson 29-10 at halftime.
"We are playing really well right now. Defensively we are playing good basketball and we are starting to get other people involved on offense," East Side head coach Jaboria Walker.
On the boys side it was the Falcons beating the Trojans 37-33.
Velma Jackson led East Side 14-12 at halftime. At the end of the third quarter Velma Jackson led East Side 29-21.
East Side was able to fight back and to a 33-30 game. With 1:03 left in the fourth quarter, East Side's Charles Jackson hit a three point shot to tie the game at 33-33. Velma Jackson did not panic as Quinndarius Weatherspoon drove baseline, pull the defense to him and then bounce passed the ball to Moses Greenwood who scored the lay-up for a 35-33 lead.
East Side would turn the ball over on their next two possessions, one resulting in two free throws from Weatherspoon to secure the victory for the Falcons.
Jon Paul Davis led East Side with 14 points and Charles Jackson scored eight. Weatherspoon led Velma Jackson with 15 points and Greenwood scored 13 points.
The Trojans will be back in action Tuesday as they Region 4-3A tournament starts at East Side. The Trojanettes will not play until Thursday, as they are the No. 1 seed in the region.
