The original day was Saturday, but officials rescheduled because of heavy rains on Friday.
This year 13 teams will participate in the jamboree headlined by host team East Side and new head coach Kendrick Woodard. Originally 18 teams were scheduled to participate in the event.
"We have some guys banged up so we are going to give our young guys a chance to get out there and show what they can do. We have some talented kids out here and we want to give them a chance to make an impression," said Woodard.
The Trojans will close out this year's jamboree as they take on Greenwood. The game is scheduled for 7:40 p.m.
Along with East Side several other area schools will be participating in Saturday's jamboree. Shelby, Shaw and West Bolivar will all be slated to play.
West Bolivar Eagles new head coach Joac Williams said preparing his team has been a good process and he is looking forward to hitting the field Monday to show all their hard work.
"We have been working hard on the field and in the weight room. For us we are installing a base look just to get things started as we build for the type of team we want to have. The kids are excited and have been showing that work ethic every day. We lost a lot from last year's team, but the kids are using that as inspiration to go out and show everybody that this isn’t a rebuilding year for us," said Williams.
Admission into the jamboree is $5.
The jamboree schedule will start at 4 p.m. with (Shelby vs. Leland); 4:20 p.m., (Amanda Elzy vs. Leland); 4:40 p.m., (Shelby vs. Amanda Elzy); 5:00 p.m., (Shaw vs. Hollandale-Simmons); 5:40 p.m., (West Bolivar vs. Leflore County); 6:20 p.m. (South Delta vs. Gentry); 7:00 p.m. (Greenville-Weston vs. Rosa Fort) and at 7:40 p.m. (Greenwood vs. East Side).
