he West Bolivar Eagles saw their season come to an end as they lost to the Calhoun City Wildcats in the third round of the 2A State Playoffs Friday night in Calhoun City.

Calhoun City will now play Baldwyn in the 2A North Half Title game next week, while West Bolivar ended its season at 9-4.

The Eagles scored their only touchdown in the fourth quarter as Justin Calmese recovered a fumble in the end zone. Deguadereck Rice scored the two-point conversion to make the score 27-8, which ended up being the final.

“When you play good teams, somebody has to lose,” West Bolivar head football coach Joac Williams said. “Calhoun City was a little more physical up front and they were able to establish the run.”

Williams added that he was proud of what the team accomplished and proud of the group of players he had during the season.
