Butler named Region 3-3A Offensive Player of the Year

East Side senior running back Quadre Butler had a great year for the Trojans.

He rushed for 1,603 yards with 11 touchdowns on 209 carries. Butler’s production didn’t go unnoticed as he was named the Offensive Player of the Year in Region 3-3A. Butler’s production helped East Side post a record of 10-4 with a trip to the third round of the 3A State Playoffs.

Butler was named first team All-Region 3-3A and he wasn’t alone as teammates Taquille Eatmon (RB), Barron Burns (LB), Jalen Thomas (QB), Stanquanze Dawkins (OL), Kedric Webb (OL), Simeon Kimble (DB) and Perry Henry were all named to the first team.

East Side also had several players earn All-Second Team honors as Paddarrius Bronner, Jamarcus Burns, Charlie Harrison, Leon Green, Rozell Pendleton, Dy’monquae Pates, Eparish Mayhall and Lakyle Thomas made the list.

Ruleville Central had its share of representatives on the All-Region 3-3A team. Quarterback Markevion Quinn and linebacker Chivas Warren earned first team honors, linebacker Deandre Fields and wide receiver Anthony Spivey earned second team honors and Isaiah Nailor, L.A. Cannon, Duwan Harris, Michael Williams, David Flakes, Latavious Fairley and Jacarious Willis earned honorable mention honors.
