A baby Eastern Screech Owl climbed its way to the front porch of Allyson and D.D. Hardy's home in Cleveland a couple days ago. These pictures, taken on Tuesday afternoon, capture the baby just before it made its way back to the parents who had been carefully watching out from an oak tree above. Trey Cooke, director of Delta Wildlife, said the owls had adapted well to an abnormal environment. "I've never seen a baby Eastern Screech Owl settle up in someone's home before," he said. "They are mostly nocturnal so it's fairly rare to see this." Cooke said the birds are monogamous and raise their babies together, which is why the parents were keeping a watchful eye and feeding the baby at night.
