Visitation was Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 1 p.m. until the service began at 3 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven.
Mrs. Thornton was born June 29, 1938, in Darden, Tenn., and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Dycus and Jeffery Dycus, both of Cleveland; four daughters, Joyce Wade of Nesbit, Judy Harrison of Hernando, and Janice Dycus, and Julie Payne, both of Cleveland; one brother, Coy Bledsoe of Missouri; four sisters, Earline Kanjaine of Illinois, Barbara Sue Tubbs of Humboldt, Tenn., Cora Lou Bethel of Illinois, and Peggy Bledsoe of Missouri; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
